Our volunteer programme involves both local and international volunteers. We provide accommodation and transport to and from work for international volunteers. The daily duties of volunteers include greeting visitors, merchandise sales, cleaning cheetah enclosures and taking care of our Anatolian Shepherd dogs.
Sometimes the work involves hard labour like building fences and gates, carpentry, digging and all tasks needed for the general maintenance of our facilities.
The main responsibility of volunteers is to talk to guests in order to communicate information about the cheetah and the Cheetah Outreach programme. This requires a person who is outgoing, confident and enthusiastic. Command of the English language is required. In addition, volunteers assist with guest encounters with the ambassador cheetahs.
The amount of time that a volunteer is able to spend with the cheetahs depends on the relationship that the volunteer builds with each of the cats, and obviously this only comes with time and patience, and at the discretion of the handlers.
Please note that our international volunteers are only accepted after successfully moving through our selection process. Please read the information package for potential volunteers carefully. Read here
