Schools Programme Mission Statement "To facilitate the increased respect and pride for South Africa’s indigenous fauna especially in the youth of disadvantaged communities; using the cheetah (Acinonyx jubatus) as an ambassador species and to plant the seed of a conservation ethic." Cheetah Outreach Trust’s education programme is a community-based, curriculum-linked series of interactive presentations offered at Cheetah Outreach. These presentations provide South African children from all backgrounds with the opportunity to learn about and to be inspired by their natural wildlife heritage.  The school programme has evolved to serve learners from the Foundation and Intermediate phases. It supplies curriculum-linked resources which address the subjects of Language, Natural Science and Life Skills. These resources are available in English, Afrikaans and Xhosa. The learning resources enable learning outcomes to be addressed through interesting and applied examples based on cheetahs and other African wildlife.   The learning experience provided to schools at Cheetah Outreach includes audio-visual presentations and an opportunity to view and, for selected learners, to meet our ambassador animals. The presentations are offered in English, Afrikaans and Xhosa. Our Bus2Us programme provides transport to and from Cheetah Outreach for underprivileged learners. This enables thousands of disadvantaged children to visit Cheetah Outreach every year to learn about and see South African wildlife - an opportunity they would not otherwise have had. Teachers are also motivated by workshops sponsored by Cheetah Outreach. The programme is monitored and evaluated by means of teacher and learner satisfaction surveys. Results thus far collated demonstrate a high level of participant satisfaction. Cheetah Outreach Education Group Booking Form In 2018, Cheetah Outreach: Hosted 83 school groups. (approximately 4,700 children). Provided transport to and from our facility for 37 of these groups. All children from disadvantaged communities are accommodated free of charge.
